A High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) is a special type of number plate used on vehicles in India. It is designed to reduce vehicle theft and improve security by incorporating several security features, such as a hologram and a unique laser-etched chromium-based serial number. The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MORTH), Government of India amended Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989 to standardize the form and manner in which registration numbers are displayed across the country. In Punjab, the HSRP is managed under the supervision of the State Transport Commissioner Office.

What is the Online HSRP Punjab Registration Process?

Under the supervision of the State Transport Commissioner, Punjab Transport Department has come up with an online portal to apply online for HSRP. Here is the step-by-step HSRP online registration process for Punjab state:

1. Go to the website: https://www.punjabhsrp.in/
2. Click on the icon mentioning “Apply HSRP Online Pay HSRP Fee (Old Vehicles – Manufactured Before 1st Apr 2019)”
3. Fill in the HSRP Application Form with asked details such as Application Type, Vehicle No, Chassis No, Engine No, Owner Name, Mobile No, Vehicle Class, Vehicle Type, Registration Card Type, and Select Fitment Location.
4. Click on Submit button.
5. On the next page, select the appointment slot from the available dates.
6. Now you will be asked for payment. Select and pay the fees using the payment method of your choice. Additional payment gateway charges may apply. Charges vary from 0% to 1.85% depending on the mode of payment selected.
7. Download the receipt.

How to Apply for HSRP Color-Coded Stickers in Punjab?

In case of damage to color-coded stickers, you can also apply only for color-coded stickers (TLP). For this, you have to visit the same website you have applied for the HSRP Punjab number plate. Here is the step-by-step process to apply for HSRP color-coded stickers in Punjab:

1. Go to the website: https://www.punjabhsrp.in/
2. Click on the icon mentioning “Apply Only Color Coded Sticker (TLP)”
3. Fill in the HSRP Application Form with asked details such as Application Type, Vehicle No, Chassis No, Owner Name, Mobile No, Registration Date, Front LID, Rear LID, Fuel Type, Vehicle Class, Vehicle Type, and Select Fitment Location.
4. Click on Submit button.

If you have lost or misplaced your HSRP receipt or invoice, you can easily download or reprint it online. You can easily reprint your challan by entering the vehicle registration number or invoice number. Here are the steps to follow:

2. Click on the ‘Reprint Invoice’ button in the top menu.
3. Enter your ‘Registration No’ or ‘Invoice No’
4. Click on the ‘Submit’ button.

How to Reschedule the Appointment for HSRP Fitment?

If due to some unforeseen reasons you have to reschedule the appointment for HSRP fitment in your vehicle, you can do it online. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Go to the website: https://www.punjabhsrp.in/
2. Click on the icon mentioning “Reschedule Appointment (HSRP Fee already paid)”
3. Select your RTA/SDM location from drop-down menu.
4. Enter your Vehicle Registration Number.
5. Now you will be provided with an option to reschedule your appointment date.
