VinFast VF 6 Electric SUV Debuts at Bharat Mobility Expo

The VinFast VF 6 combines modern design and advanced technology, signaling the brand's commitment to the Indian EV market.

VinFast made a notable entry into the Indian automotive market by showcasing its VF 6 electric SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. This event marked the Indian debut of the VF 6, a compact SUV positioned alongside its larger counterpart, the VF 7, which was also presented at the expo.

The VF 6 features a contemporary design with split light clusters at both the front and rear, an upswept belt line, and a gently sloping roofline. At the front, it is equipped with VinFast’s signature LED daytime running lights located at the base of the bonnet, while the main headlight units are integrated lower on the bumper, which is accented by black cladding and a sizable central air vent.

From a side view, the VF 6 showcases a prominent rear haunch and a distinctive kink in the window line near the C-pillar. The rear design includes a layered look with VinFast’s trademark split light bar positioned high on the tailgate, complemented by secondary lights lower on the bumper and dynamic cuts across the tailgate.

Inside, the cabin mirrors that of the larger VF 7, featuring a minimalist aesthetic with a large 12.9-inch central touchscreen angled towards the driver. The SUV does not have a traditional instrument cluster; instead, it utilizes a head-up display. Additionally, Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) come standard.

The VF 6 offers two powertrain options globally, both utilizing a 59.6 kWh battery pack. The first option features a single motor producing 174 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, while the second option is more powerful, generating 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. Both configurations come with front-wheel drive and are claimed to provide a range of up to 399 km on a full charge based on WLTP standards.

VinFast announced its plans to enter India over a year ago and is currently constructing its manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The Bharat Mobility Expo serves as the brand’s first public showcase in India ahead of its official vehicle launches later this year.
