VinFast has made a significant entry into the Indian market by unveiling its VF 7 electric SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. This mid-sized SUV is part of a broader lineup that includes the entry-level VF 3 and the flagship VF 9, showcasing the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in India.
The VF 7 measures approximately 4.5 meters in length and features a modern design characterized by smooth lines, a sleek profile, and a gently sloping roofline. The front fascia is equipped with LED daytime running lights positioned at the base of the bonnet, while the main headlight units are integrated lower on the bumper. The rear design mirrors this contemporary aesthetic with similarly styled LED light guides and additional cladding that enhances its crossover appearance.
Inside, the VF 7 boasts a driver-centric layout with a free-standing touchscreen angled towards the driver. Notably, it forgoes a traditional instrument cluster, instead relying on the central touchscreen for various functions, including climate control. The SUV comes standard with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems.
Globally, the VF 7 offers two powertrain options, both utilizing a 75.3 kWh battery pack. The single motor variant produces 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque, while the dual motor version generates a more powerful 348 bhp and 500 Nm. VinFast claims that both configurations can achieve a range of up to 450 km on a full charge.
VinFast began constructing its manufacturing facility in India early last year, aiming to produce its electric vehicles locally. While details on the official launch date for the VF 7 remain unclear, it is expected to be one of the first models introduced in India as VinFast continues to expand its footprint in the growing EV market.
