Mahindra XUV300 Introduces Two New Variants: “W2” and “W4 TurboSport” for Increased Affordability.

In a bid to enhance its affordability, the Mahindra XUV300 has unveiled two fresh variants: “W2” and “W4 TurboSport.” This strategic move has effectively lowered the entry point for the subcompact SUV, bringing the starting price down to Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Notably, the T-GDi petrol engine choice is now more accessible for budget-conscious buyers, as it is offered in a lower-spec trim.

The introduction of the all-new base-spec variant, the “W2,” is exclusive to the 1.2-litre turbo petrol version. This latest addition comes at a price point Rs 66,000 lower than the W4 petrol-manual variant. Meanwhile, the diesel engine option maintains its starting position from the W4 variant. Excitingly, the TurboSport edition, which features the mStallion T-GDi (turbo) petrol engine, is now accessible starting from the W4 variant, making this performance-oriented trim more affordable by over Rs 1 lakh.

Furthermore, the inclusion of the sunroof feature has been extended, beginning from the W4 variant onwards. This enhancement marks a departure from its earlier availability, limited to the W6 variant and above.

The XUV300 boasts a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality. Alongside this, it offers dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a single-pane sunroof, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM), and rain-sensing wipers. Prioritizing safety, it is outfitted with up to six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) featuring rollover mitigation, front and rear parking sensors, and a comprehensive all-wheel disc brake system.

Mahindra’s subcompact SUV lineup presents a trio of engine options. These include a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine generating 110PS and 200Nm, a 1.2-litre T-GDi (turbo) petrol engine delivering 130PS and a peak torque of up to 250Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 117PS and a substantial 300Nm of torque. All powertrains are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, the turbo-petrol and diesel engines offer the additional choice of a 6-speed AMT.

The pricing structure for the Mahindra XUV300 now spans from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom). In the competitive landscape, it goes head-to-head with rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
